We heard from Yvette about her journey from a young horse lover to building a successful career within the equestrian industry, sharing the passion, experiences and lessons that have shaped her along the way.
Like so many others, I dreamed of working in the horse industry. I started my career in real estate marketing on the Central Coast, NSW, then transitioned into sales and marketing for an equine nutrition and then into equine supplements. It was at Equitana in 2018 that I saw a major gap - horse businesses were struggling to be found online. That’s when the vision hit me: what if we had a platform like realestate.com.au, but for the horse world?
In 2019, I launched EquiDirectory with one big goal: to connect horse owners with the equine businesses, services, and products they need - and to give every horse business the chance to be seen, no matter their size or budget.
What makes us different from any other directory or marketplace site is that we offer, and will always offer, a basic listing for free to every horse business. It’s our way of helping small and local businesses get online visibility while ensuring horse owners can easily find the full range of equine services available. Through my second platform, Stable Mares, I’ve created a community and brand designed to support equestrian women juggling life, horses, and business - with digital tools, mindset journals, planners, and motivational guides to help us all feel like we’re nailing life (even on the chaotic days). And now, I’m incredibly excited to be launching my new book, “Nailing Life the Stable Mares Way” - a real, raw and relatable guide for horsewomen who want to find balance, confidence, and purpose while pursuing their dreams. It’s more than a book; it’s the beginning of a movement to help women feel
grounded, inspired, and empowered - in life, business, and with their horses.
